Companies can support Autism Speaks in a variety of ways. Whether employer or employee, below are some of the ways you can help Autism Speaks make a difference to the lives of people affected by autism. Please contact Philippa Stannard for further information and support.
A company donation is always most welcome and can make a significant impact on our income. Donations can also be tax efficient.
Sponsorship enables Autism Speaks to organise a range of successful events - whether it be helping us fund our event, providing auction prizes or donating a venue. Autism Speaks can acknowledge company support in the literature and publicity it produces for the event.
Making Autism Speaks your Charity of the Year will help us enormously to raise awareness and funds. A long term relationship with your company can also help us plan for our future. We are committed to providing solid and dynamic working relationships with companies.
Payroll Giving is a great way of making a regular donation to Autism Speaks, as your donation is tax free – which means the tax man will add on the tax to your donation to us!
How Payroll Giving works
Each time you are paid at work, a donation is deducted by your Payroll Department before tax is calculated. For instance, if you are a basic rate tax payer:
And if you pay 40% tax, a £5.00 donation to Autism Speaks will only cost you £3.00. In addition, some employers offer 'matched giving' schemes, where they match or double your gift at no extra cost to you – this means even more money for the charity.
Just check with your payroll department that your company currently offers the Payroll Giving scheme. Even if they don’t, it is very easy for them to set up a payroll giving scheme for their employees. Alternatively, complete our payroll donation form and we will contact your employer. Decide how much you would like to give each payday. Remember that the amount you pledge includes the part the taxman will pay!
Trusts & Foundations enable Autism Speaks to continue to fund more research.
If you have a connection with any grant making trusts that provide funding opportunities, please email Jane Westley, our Trusts Fundraiser or telephone her on 01276 686961. We would love to be able discuss submitting proposals for funding with you.
