Fundraising Events
Events are a great way to raise funds for Autistica and spread the word about autism and our important work.
Perhaps you would like to take part in one of our Autistica events - we have lots of options available for those who want to really push themselves and take on a personal challenge at the same time as helping to raise money for a worthwhile cause. If you want something a little less physical then we have specific Autistica arranged events which might just be what you 're looking for!
Alternatively, why not organise your own event in support of Autistica - a Summer Ball or a Christmas Concert, a sponsored swim or a sponsored slim, a run on the road or a walk in the park, a champagne and strawberries picnic in the garden or a teddy bears picnic in the woods..if you want to help raise vital funds for research into autism, Autistica would love to hear from you.

Best-selling authors, book lovers andunpublished writers helped to make Sunday 21st November 2011 a literary hive of activity on eBay in Autistica's Authors for Autistica.
Sci-Fi No. 1 authorPeter F Hamilton's auctionraised £599 through a tough bidding war won by Ralph Stevens - look out for his name in Peter's novel. Ralph said: 'I spend a lot of time working in Antarctica and Peter's books have kept me going over the years'. Ralph also won a character name in Susan Lewis' next bookfor his mother Berry Stevens as a very special Christmas present.
Deborah Lawrenson spoke to BBC Radio Kent about the auction at the weekend about the book her character name would feature. Her book will feature the RAF in the Second World War with lots of romance and heroism! The auction was snapped as a gift to Nancy Bateman by her son; Nancy served with the RAF during the war at RAF Duxford and later, Egypt.
Teen horror best-seller Darren Shan rocked the eBay site with his character auction raising a magnificent £990. Darren promises: 'offer the winning bidder the chance to have a character named after them in book 4 of The Saga of Larten Crepsley, due for publication in May 2012. As an extra treat, I will kill off the character in the book, so the winning bidder will be able to say that they were slaughtered by me in print!!!' That pleasure will go to super-fan Holly-Jane Galinec in Canada as a very unique gift from her parents!
